WOODSHED GARDENS

A Regenerative Education Center in Malibu, California

Woodshed Gardens is a living classroom dedicated to ecological restoration, land stewardship, and earth-based education. Shaped over many years through biodynamic care and seasonal tending, the site serves as a place of practice, learning, and community connection.

Through the Earth Steward Apprenticeship, we offer a seasonal immersion in sacred land stewardship. Apprentices engage in hands-on soil building, regenerative gardening, composting, planting, and daily tending, while cultivating practices of ritual, observation, and relationship with place. The apprenticeship supports an embodied, relational approach to living with the land.

In addition to the apprenticeship, Woodshed Gardens offers a variety of hands-on workshops for those looking to build practical skills and deepen their connection to the land. Our Fire Resilience Workshops focus on strategies for cultivating fire-adapted landscapes, enhancing ecosystem health, and supporting long-term stewardship in fire-prone regions. Composting Workshops explore the role of decomposition in soil regeneration, offering guidance on how to create and maintain effective compost systems at home. Medicine Making Workshops introduce foundational herbal practices, where participants learn to prepare simple, seasonal remedies using garden-grown plants. Each workshop is grounded in real-life application and welcomes learners of all levels.

Our commitment to restoration extends into the broader community through the Soil Sponge Collective—a volunteer-driven initiative focused on regenerating living soils and restoring watershed health through public education and collaborative land projects across Southern California.

Through our Media offerings, Woodshed Gardens shares conversations and teachings at the intersection of ecology, culture, and healing. This includes The Great Work of Our Time livestream series, along with selected talks and interviews featuring Linda Gibbs and collaborators.

The Journal holds seasonal writings, reflections, and land-based musings—offering insights into the cycles, questions, and rhythms that guide our work.

Join us in learning, tending, and growing together—on the land and in community.
